September 23

Jerry and Lynn Jones are here!! We are excited that our friends Jerry and Lynn have returned to South Fork to share with us some important aspects of relationships. They will be here Sunday through Wednesday. The afternoon/evening sessions on Sunday will begin at 3 PM.  Please note that the evening sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will begin at 6:30. There will be two sessions each of those nights and the sessions will wrap up at 8:30, giving our parents a little extra time to get our kids home and in bed a little earlier.

And just a reminder. This wonderful seminar that we are providing, along with every other aspect of our ministry here at South Fork, is more than worth the costs that make them possible. However, those costs must be paid. You know that we are behind on our giving as a church, and you also know that our shepherds have called on us to be prepared this next Sunday, Sept. 30th, to make up that deficit. And a couple more things we all know. We know the contribution we have missed from Sundays we have been away. And we know the extra we can put in to make up for that and possibly even a little more.

“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-7, NKJV)

As Jerry and Lynn are speaking this week, listen closely to their helpful and encouraging teaching on relationships and consider how you can apply these lessons to your own life. And also be listening for some wonderful “one-liners” that Jerry and Lynn will share with us in each session. Here are a couple examples:

“The couples that stay together are the ones that are kind to each other.”
“The only thing in life you can control is the way you respond to life.”
