Our brother Paul Kirkpatrick, preacher for the Warners Chapel Church of Christ, has been diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer. Please keep Paul and his family and our brothers and sisters at Warners constantly before the throne of God. Our hearts and thoughts and prayers will go out for this good servant of the Lord and all who are especially close to him during the difficult days and weeks ahead.

This past Sunday was our annual Children’s Ministry emphasis day, and what a joyful celebration it was. Thanks to Jeff and Barbara Trinh and Steve and Kay-Lynn Hirst and all those who work in our Children’s Ministry. What a blessing to be a part of a church that invests so heavily in our children! One way you can help our children grow in their faith is by encouraging them to be a part of Carolina Bible Camp. CBC has had a great impact on our children and teens for many years, and many look back and see time at CBC as very instrumental in their faith development, including their decision to become a Christian. Thanks to all who help with CBC for your efforts for our children.

Speaking of children, God continues to bless us with more! Carson Edward Whitley was born to Brandon and Rhiannon on Tuesday. Our Ed and Elizabeth Ballard are of course proud grandparents. Congratulations also to Wes and Linda Cogar on their 50th Anniversary! We were blessed to have some of their guests with us this past Sunday who were here to celebrate this great milestone. Thanks for your example and the blessing and inspiration you are to so many. God is so good!

VBS preparation is in full swing! We are about a week away, and our church building is being transformed into a first century world. Our Bible lessons will center on some of the stories of the early life and ministry of our Lord Jesus. It’s not too late to help. And it is certainly time to think of children in your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. and invite them to be a part of this fun experience where they will learn about Jesus and become familiar with our South Fork church.
